This is a place for links to specific resources for 6th grade mathematics.  They are matched to the Arkansas and CCSS-M standards.  The units and standards associated with each of these resources is only a suggestion based on the opinion of the person(s) who created the link and is not intended to be a specific interpretation of the standards.  Many of the resources could be used in different or even in multiple units.  

Be sure to check out Illustrative Mathematics, https://www.illustrativemathematics.org,  for the standards taught in each unit. This site is organized by standard.  Because of the number of tasks on that site, not all of the tasks are included here.  More tasks are being added to that site all the time.  It is a great resource for tasks that match the CCSSM.

• 6.RP.1, 2, 3 - Snail Pace - http://insidemathematics.org/index.php/tools-for-teachers/6th-grade-math/mars-tasks-scoring-rubrics-a-analysis -  The Snail Pace task listed on this page requires students to work with distances, time and speeds in inches and minutes.  These tasks also have sample student work, teacher reflections, and other resources. 
• 6.RP.1,2,3 - Measuring Up - http://illuminations.nctm.org/LessonDetail.aspx?ID=U148 - unit (7 lessons) on proportional reasoning, ratio and indirect measurement.
• 6.RP.2,3 - Unit Price and Comparison Shopping - http://ethemes.missouri.edu/themes/443 - this site has links to different lessons on finding a unit price (one application of unit rate).
  
• 6.RP.3c - Percent Cards -  http://insidemathematics.org/index.php/tools-for-teachers/6th-grade-math/mars-tasks-scoring-rubrics-a-analysis - The Percent Cards task listed on this page requires students to relate fractions, decimals and percents and place them on a number line.  These tasks also have sample student work, teacher reflections, and other resources. 
  

The Number System -- 6.NS

• 6.NS.1 - Divide and Conquer - http://www.utdanacenter.org/mathtoolkit/instruction/lessons/7_divide.php - lesson designed to teach fraction division through a sequence of problems (sharing and grouping).  It is organized to build on what students know about division of whole numbers to build an understanding of division of fractions.

Expressions and Equations -- 6.EE

• 6.EE - Public Lessons: Numeric Patterning -  http://www.insidemathematics.org/index.php/classroom-video-visits/public-lessons-numerical-patterning - This page includes a  Button Task, classroom video, and other related resources.  While this task explicitly addresses 6.EE.1, all of the 6.EE standards can be addressed in classroom discussion and teacher questioning of this task.

• 6.EE.2a, 6.EE.6 - A Number Pattern - http://insidemathematics.org/index.php/tools-for-teachers/6th-grade-math/mars-tasks-scoring-rubrics-a-analysis -- The "A Number Pattern" task listed on this page asks students to describe and extend numeric patterns found in Pascal's Triangle.  These tasks also have sample student work, teacher reflections, and other resources.
• 6.EE.9 -- Graphing Stories -- http://graphingstories.com/ -- asks students to graph real life situations from a video.  Site would be useful for understanding graphing of different types of relationships and might be good as an introduction to different function types.

• 6.G.1 -- A Real World Geometry Problem -- https://www.teachingchannel.org/videos/real-world-geometry-lesson -- Modeling lesson (video of lesson and also supporting materials included) in which students are given a task and later figure out they can use math to solve it.  (Note:  Teaching Channel lesson -- it may ask for you to login.  Accounts are free.)
