Math Resources
A new Online Math Teaching Resources page has been added to help teachers suddenly having to teaching online. Also check out the great links below:
Printable Math Teacher Resources - https://kentuckymathematics.org/pimser.php - graph paper, number lines, 10's charts, etc.
Tasks
- Illustrative Mathematics - https://www.illustrativemathematics.org/free-resources/ - a project to provide tasks that illustrate each of the CCSSM standards. There are also contests for teachers to write tasks and provide standards for this site. There are a few of the standards already illustrated, and more tasks are being added as they are reviewed. If you have an account (they are free) and log in, you can click on "Show only Illustrated Standards" to see the standards that include illustrations. (This site can now be searched by search engines. For example, you could search for "Illustrations for 7.G.1" and should be taken straight to those illustrations).
- Course Blueprints -- https://www.illustrativemathematics.org/blueprints -- suggest one possible order by arranging the standards into units for a year of study and include tasks and assessments associated with the units.
- Annotated Tasks can be found on the Achieve the Core website. These annotated tasks give teachers more information about how to use these tasks as a lesson in the classroom and also instructional implications of the tasks.
- Open Up Resources -- https://im.openupresources.org/ -- free curriculum for grades 6-8 based on illustrative mathematics ideas and materials.
- Nrich -- http://nrich.maths.org/public/ -- Provides rich problems weekly on different levels of difficulty. Some of these might make good practice problems for assessments. Includes a link to search all problems by topic. Be sure to click on the American flag to see American rather than British English.
- Noyce Foundation -- http://www.noycefdn.org/resources.php -- Links to many different resources including MARS tasks by grade level, a problem of the month, and Inside Mathematics.
- ORC Problem Center -- http://www.ohiorc.org/problem-corner/ -- Site containing what ORC feels are "rich problems" These problems are searchable by topic and grade level.
- You Cubed - https://www.youcubed.org/ - a site containing tasks, videos and other resources promoting a growth mindset in mathematics.
- Which One Doesn't Belong? -- http://wodb.ca/graphs.html -- tasks with four givens (pictures, graphs, numbers...) and students are asked to tell why each one does not belong with the others. Emphasizes the properties of objects being compared.
- Math Modeling Hub - https://qubeshub.org/community/groups/mmhub - tasks involving mathematical modeling.

- Visual Math -- http://www.visualpatterns.org/ - a series of mathematical patterns to use to start math discussion.
- Number Strings -- https://numberstrings.com/ -- A number string is a set of related math problems, crafted to support students to construct big ideas about mathematics and build their strategies (Fosnot & Dolk, 2002). This site contains numbers strings for many different math topics.
- Achieve Exemplars Lessons -- http://www.achieve.org/equip/exemplars -- A collection of lessons matched to CCSSM that have been evaluated using the EQuIP rubric.
- CPALMS Model-Eliciting Activities (MEA's) -- http://www.cpalms.org/Resources/PublicPreviewResourceCollection.aspx?ResourceCollectionId=59 -- MEAs are open-ended, interdisciplinary problem-solving activities that resemble engineering problems. These can be searched by grade level or by standards.
- Share My Lesson - http://www.sharemylesson.com/home.aspx - is the American counterpart to TES- http://www.tes.co.uk - a teacher network that includes many resources and forums for teachers. The TES site is hosted in Europe, so some of the language is different than the United States (i.e., "gradient" instead of "slope"). Both sites contain some great problems and tasks. They require a free membership to enter.
- Utah Department of Education Resources -- http://www.uen.org/core/math/ - If you click on the links on the left side of this page to the standards for each grade level you can see links to lesson plans and other resources categorized by standard.

They are also designed in a way that would not be too hard for teachers to use. Once you click on a grade level, click on a heading such as "Clarifying Assessments ..." or "Clarifying Lessons" to see the instructional materials.
- Math Forum @ Drexel Teacher Exchange - http://mathforum.org/te/ - The Teacher Exchange includes web units, activities, and lessons written over the years by participants in some of our grant-funded institutes as well as lessons from the greater mathematics education community.
