Assessment Information

Page history last edited by Tim Brister 1 month, 3 weeks ago

One question I am getting asked a lot these days is, "where can I find sample performance tasks (assessments)."  This is a page designed to help provide some sample resources.  As you use these resources please keep in mind that these resources are all unofficial (unless otherwise noted).

Beware of the Test Prep Trap, Jay McTighe -- article on what to do an not do related to test prep.

Math DOK descriptions from WebbAlignhttps://www.livebinders.com/media/get/MTYyMTU3OTU= - Descriptions of DOK levels in math from the group associated with Norman Webb, the researcher who developed DOK.  (I have seen other descriptions that do not align with this description.  Because this comes form Norman Wedd, I trust that this description is correct.

ATLAS (Cambium) Assessment:

Blog on adapting Test-prep -- https://emergentmath.com/page/3/?ref=driverlayer.com%2Fimage -- Blog on changing the way you use test-prep questions to encourage deeper student thinking.

Smarter Balanced Practice Assessment -- http://sbac.portal.airast.org/Practice_Test/default.html -- The Smarter Balanced consortium has released sample tests at a few grade levels that students (or teachers) can take online.  No matter what consortium you are in, some of these might at least give you some idea of possibilities for computer scored items that are not multiple choice.
